Southern California Wingspan is hosting an online competition to raise funds and crowdsource implementable solutions to the mental health crisis. The competition draws upon talented students across Southern California and across the country. If you are interested in participating, please stay tuned for more information.
Southern California Wingspan, as part of a national initiative, is also providing online tutoring, test prep, and college counseling through the summer. Priority will be given to students from disadvantaged neighborhoods, but students from all across California are encouraged to enroll. We hope to help students catch up on any missed school, reinforce their learning, provide alternative modes of teaching, and offer important college guidance. We are working with local high school service organizations to offer volunteer hours and points for their tutoring service.

What We Do
In addition to supporting the National Wingspan Team's 2020-2021 focus, the Southern California chapter is working tirelessly to address the mental illness crisis sweeping the nation's teens, and now adults. The extended isolation due to lockdown and prevailing political anxieties have made mental health especially important, and we seek to uplift the mental health of teens across Southern California through our programs and partnerships.

The Southern California branch of Wingspan Solutions was founded by Margot Barrett and Angie Pace in April 2020 in order to support the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. From the start, the Branch has supported teens across numerous neighborhoods and interests in giving back to their communities.
